PAUL CHIRUMBOLO has explored eastern and western psychospiritual traditions for the past 26 years.

He has maintained a practice of Hatha Yoga and meditation since 1979 and is an initiated yogi in the Siddha Yoga tradition. He has also lived and trained with native healers of North and South America. He holds an  MA in Clinical Psychology and offers gay-centered psychotherapy in Los Angeles.

Chirumbolo has presented workshops at self-discovery centers and wellness settings since 1988 and he has lectured on such topics as "Racism, Sexism and Homophobia," the "Principles of Making Change,” "Theory and Use of Dreams in Psychotherapy," and "Exploring Cultural and Sexual Identity," among others, in college psychology classes and other public forums. His website, “Inner Work With Paul Chirumbolo,” was launched in 2000, presenting select writings and workshop offerings. The website continues to receive over 17,000 visitors each month.

A longtime writer, Chirumbolo's background also includes twelve years having worked in the motion picture industry, as Story Editor on Footloose, Quicksilver, Big Business, and Mountains of the Moon, as well as Creative Executive on Nobody’s Child, Lonesome Dove, and The Memory Boy. He is author of eight other feature screenplays, including professional screenwriting collaborations with Paul Monette (Taking Care of Mrs. Carroll), Anjelica Huston (O Pioneers!), and Franco Zeffirelli (Young Toscanini, Chopin, and The Florentines).

Chirumbolo left the motion picture industry to found The Community Arts Center, a non-profit, public benefit corporation formed as center for the arts for the gay and lesbian population of Los Angeles. For four years Chirumbolo worked as Founding Director and Chairman of the Board of Directors. The Arts Center served as forerunner to today’s Village at Ed Gould Plaza, a 34,000 sq. ft. cultural hub located in Hollywood, CA.
